Our Methodology

1. Pal Data: Fandom Wiki (CC BY-SA 4.0)

All base stats (HP, ATK, DEF, Work Suitability, Drops, Partner Skill) are pulled from the Palworld Fandom Wiki, which is community-maintained under a Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 license. The data is refreshed every 24 hours against the wiki's MediaWiki API.

What this means for you: If the Fandom Wiki is wrong, we're wrong. But we cross-check against multiple sources (Pocketpair patch notes, Reddit, Discord) for major changes.

Confidence score: Each Pal entry has a confidence score (0-1). Currently 0.85 average for all 287 Pals. The 0.15 uncertainty is mostly around exact Work Suitability levels (which the game doesn't always expose clearly).

2. Tier List Rankings: Multi-Factor Model

Our tier list considers:

1. Base stats (40% weight) — HP, ATK, DEF at level 1
2. Awakening scaling (30% weight) — how much a Pal benefits from Lv.10 Awakening
3. Element versatility (15% weight) — single vs. dual type, type advantage coverage
4. Partner skill utility (10% weight) — riding, AoE, lifesteal, mobility
5. Breeding value (5% weight) — can the Pal breed into something even better?

S+ tier = score 9.0+, S tier = 8.0-8.9, A tier = 7.0-7.9, B tier = 6.0-6.9, C tier = below 6.0. Common Pals with C-tier base stats can climb to A-tier with proper Awakening + mutations.

Meta snapshot: We assume max Awakening (Lv.10) + 2 best mutations (Mythical + Fierce for DPS; Legend for utility). For a pure stat-stick evaluation, divide all stats by 1.5 to get Lv.0 baseline.

3. Breeding Combos: 164 Hardcoded + Combirank Fallback

1.0 hardcoded 164 special breeding combinations that override the default formula. Our Breeding Calculator checks these first. If no special combo matches, we use the Palworld 1.0 Combirank system:

1. Each Pal has a hidden Combirank (1-1500)
2. Baby Combirank = average of both parents
3. Game picks the closest matching Pal in the database
4. If tied, the Pal earlier in the game files wins

Cake bonuses are applied on top: Standard +0%, Mushroom +5%, Vegetable +10% (2 eggs), Extravagant Vegetable +15% (mutations), Special +30% (passive skills).

Caveat: The Combirank values aren't public — we use the Pal names directly. If Pocketpair rebalances Combirank, our fallback may diverge from in-game behavior.

4. Mutation Math: Multiplicative Stacking

Mutations stack multiplicatively with Awakening bonuses. Example for Frostallion Noct (base ATK 140) with Musclehead (+30% ATK) and Mythical (+20% all stats), at Awakening Lv.5 (+15% all):

ATK = 140 × 1.30 (Musclehead) × 1.20 (Mythical) × 1.15 (Awakening Lv.5) = 140 × 1.794 = 251.16 → rounded to 251

Same formula for HP / DEF / Speed / Work Speed, with each stat picking up its own multiplier. If a Pal has 0 base Speed (some Pals do), the multiplier is still applied, but the floor is 1.

5. Update Cadence

• Pal data: refreshed every 24 hours
• Tier list: re-evaluated weekly, or immediately after major balance patches
• Tools: updated as soon as new game mechanics are documented
• Guides: rewritten whenever game content shifts (1.0 was a full rewrite)

Every page shows its last-updated date in the page meta. You can check freshness anytime.

6. What We Don't Do

• We don't sell in-game items or accounts
• We don't run ads that slow the site (only after Day 30 of traffic)
• We don't auto-translate content (UI is translated; body content stays in English for SEO integrity)
• We don't claim official affiliation with Pocketpair

7. Reporting Errors

If you find a data error, email contact@palworldtool.com with the Pal name and the expected value. We fix within 24 hours.
